The Enterprise Amateur Radio Society (EARS) meets the third Thursday of every month at 7 PM at Enterprise State Community College, Room S-100. Visitors are always welcome. (There is no meeting in December due to our annual Christmas dinner.)

Amateur exams are available by appointment following every monthly meeting. To schedule an exam call Tom Barefoot (WA4YQT) at 763-0532 at least 24 hours in advance.

EARS maintains a voice repeater on 147.240+ MHz. It is a Micro Control Specialties Mark IV. The antenna is atop a 150-foot tower located just north of Enterprise (EM71BI). The repeater has emergency power and is affiliated with the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES).

There are three wide-area Automatic Position Reporting System (APRS) digipeaters - located in Enterprise (WD4ROJ-1 at 31° 17' 52" N, 85° 50' 10" W), Dothan (WD4ROJ-2 at 31° 13' 43" N, 85° 23' 37" W), and Victoria (WD4ROJ-3 at 31° 29' 22" N, 85° 58' 10" W) - operating on a frequency of 144.390 MHz. All three stations are WIDEn digipeaters which allow real-time processing and position display of certain Ham stations, including those using GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites.
