Field Day 2006 Recap
by Todd/KI4DFC on Mon 06-26-2006
First I would like to shout out a thank you for all that showed up, and participated in Field Day 2006. At last count we had worked around 120 contacts. We worked a maritime station in the Bahamas', a station in the Virgin Islands, a special Field Day Lighthouse site in New England, and almost all states.

As we all know the following, the purpose of Field Day is three fold. First, to practice and simulate our ability to setup and operate a station in the field during an emergency event. Second, to make as many contacts across North America as possible. And third, and most important, to have fun, a great time and enjoy the fellowship of our hobby and the help we can provide others in times of need, and of course the FOOD!

Special thanks goes out to the Mayor of Enterprise, Kenneth Boswell and his wife for visiting the site Saturday. He was glad to see that when communications go down that we are around to lend him, the county, and the country a hand in a disaster. We may be working with the city in the near future with their emergency communication needs.

It was good to see everyone, and those we don't always get to see but know you are around when we need you.

Nice to see Tom, WA4YQT up and getting around since his recent surgery and is on the road to healing and get back to his ol self.

Again thank you for all of you that made this Field Day one to remember.

73,

Todd
