January 2005 Minutes ==================== The meeting was called to order at 1900 by KL0LN. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted. The Treasurer reported a balance of $645.09 PRESIDENT'S REPORT: Jim had nothing to report. VICE-PRESIDENT'S REPORT: Surprisingly, Buck had nothing to report. REPEATER COMMITTEE: Rick and Jerry reported on the current status of the 147.24 repeater. The phone line has been terminated. The APRS system in Dothan is still functioning fine. The APRS system at EOCC was getting into the 145.39 repeater. Bob, Jerry and I replaced a seven foot section of the coax that had been chewed by squirrels. So far, that seems to have solved the problem. PIO: Ken had nothing to report. NEWSLETTER: Gary was absent. Rick praised the new web site. OLD BUSINESS: Nothing has been done to trim around the guy wires at the tower. Tom said he would contact his friend about getting it done as soon as the weather improves. NEW BUSINESS: Rick told about a meeting/demonstration he attended sponsored by the Alabama Association of Broadcasters with Alabama Power regarding the placing of towers near power lines. A reminder of the Troy Hamfest coming up this Saturday. With no other official business, introductions were made, and the meeting was adjourned at 1931 hours.
