January 19th 2006 Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Todd- KD4IFC at 7 PM.

The minutes of the November were read and approved as read.

There was no meeting for December due to the Christmas Dinner.

The treasurer's report was read and approved as read.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT:

Todd- KI4DFC informed the membership of the events of his father
and mother.

He stated that we still need more volunteers for the Red Cross
shelters.

He asked that all members work to increase membership.

The Red Cross chapter is having a dinner at Po Folks next Tuesday
and we may have a meet and greet.

The new antenna is up at Red Cross headquarters and Kinston.  We
still have to do 1st Baptist, Church of Christ and Elba.  We may
still have to change the antenna at Kinston.

VICE-PRESIDENT'S REPORT:

Buck-K4HKR reported that the club 5 K generator is now in storage
in his laundromat building.

PIO'S REPORT:

Glenn-KD4FNI had nothing to report.

REPEATER COMMITTEE:

Jerry-N4RYC reported that the Mark IV is back up at the repeater
site and seems to be working fine. A replacement voice board can
be purchased for $200 and a tone board for $58.

Costs of new repeaters listed on the internet are:
 - Hamtronics $1700 plus power supply, controller and tone board.
 - Spectrum $3000
 - T-5000 (Mark IV) $2350

OLD BUSINESS:

There was no old business.

NEW BUSINESS:

Jerry-N4RYC announced the upcoming Mobile and Orlando Hamfests.

After a discussion regarding the status of the repeater, a motion
was made and passed that the repeater committee be authorized to
spend up to $300 to purchase the voice and tone board. A motion
was made and passed to pay Bob Monk-WA4GIU $500 for repair work on
the repeater.

CLOSING:

After introductions were made, the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 PM.
