January 2007 Minutes

The meeting was called to order at by Todd - KI4DFC at 7 PM on 18 January 
2007.

Introductions were made.

The minutes of the November and December meetings were read and approved as 
read.

The Treasurer's report was read and approved as read.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT:

Todd welcomed all present.

VICE PRESIDENT'S REPORT:

Believe it or not, Buck - K4HKR had nothing to report.

EC'S REPORT:

Jim - KL0LN reported that he and Jerry - N4RYC installed the VHF, UHF and HF 
radios and power supply at the EMA office in New Brockton. The antennas are 
awaiting installation by J & J Towers who is the contractor for the EMA.

We still have not given a list of required equipment to the Mayor of 
Enterprise for the desired stations that he wishes for the city.

Jim - KA4AFI reported on the upcoming training for the Baptist feeding 
stations at the New Brockton Farm Center.

REPEATER COMMITTEE:

Jerry - N4RYC reported that Bob - WA4GIU has the UI-View server back up and 
operating well at EOCC.

The repeater is working well although it has a very low audio on the CW id.

OLD BUSINESS:

There was no old business.

NEW BUSINESS:

Todd explained the need to submit for a background to work as volunteers at 
the Red Cross and EMA during an emergency. In addition to the background 
check an individual must take an Initial Disaster Training course prior to 
working in a shelter.

There was considerable discussion regarding these requirements by the Red 
Cross and EMA.

Jim - KD4GWW has available several gel cell batteries from cell sites for 
anyone who wants one or two.
