March 2007 Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 PM on March 15th by Todd-KI4DFC.

Introductions were made all around.

The minutes of the February meeting were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer's report was read and approved as read.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT:

Todd welcomed all present and thanked all those who volunteered to help 
during the 1 March tornado.

VICE-PRESIDENT'S REPORT:

Buck-K4HKR had nothing to report.

EC'S RPORT:

Jim-KL0LN reported on the actions following the tornado.

Antenna work at the EMA will be completed on Monday

Jerry-N4RYC briefed on all personnel and where they operated during the 
tornado operations.

Todd told of his experience with Army MARS requesting him to open the MARS 
station for standby.  He was unable due to his actions with ARES.

Bill-KB4IJ and Billy-AI4SY discussed the advantages of Win-Link.

REPEATER COMMITTEE:

Jerry reported that all equipment was working fine.

OLD BUSINESS:

The Dothan tailgate party will be held at the Headland Square on Saturday 
the 14th of April.

NEW BUSINESS:

Todd informed all that they should prepare a "Go Kit" to be ready for the 
next emergency.  Several others stated what they thought should go into the 
kits.

Todd also briefed on what the local Red Cross officials said about the 
background checks.  They are not concerned about them.

The Club declined to be a sponsor for the Piney Woods Arts Festival.

The Mobile Hamfest will be April 21st.

The Milton Hamfest will be 13 and 14 July.

The Hunstville Hamfest will be 18 and 19 August.

Applications for membership from Robert Wood-AB9FR and Billy Palmer-AI4SY 
were accepted my the membership.

The silent auction for club equipment will commence immediately following 
the meeting.
