Enterprise Amateur Radio Society P.O.Box 310034 Enterprise, Alabama 36331-0034 May 2006 Minutes The meeting was called to order by Todd-KI4DFC at 7 PM. Introductions of all present were made. The minutes of the April meeting were read and approved as read. The Treasurers was read and approved as read. PRESIDENT'S REPORT: The president, Todd-KI4DFC welcomed everyone to the meeting. VICE-PRESIDENT'S REPORT: The Vice-President, Buck-K4HKR reported that New Brockton is still dead. PIO'S REPORT: The PIO, Glenn-KD4FNI stated that he is preparing notices about Field Day for the local newspapers and radio stations. REPEATER COMMITTEE REPORT: Jerry-N4RYC stated that all equipment is working properly but that he needs to change some settings on the Dothan APRS digipeater. EC'S REPORT: The Emergency Coordinator Jim-KL0LN stated that with hurricane season approaching, we need to finish work on the antennas for the Red Cross shelters. We have still not heard from Randy Black of the Coffee County Firefighters about the radio equipment in their trailer. OLD BUSINESS: Regarding the EOCC shelter, we have no idea what type of communications the EMA will want to install at that location. NEW BUSINESS: Ewan-N4LMI has informed us that he will be conducting Tech classes in Bonifay during the month of June. Information regarding the classes is available on his website. NEW BUSINESS (cont.): Buck-K4HKR asked what antennas were going to be used on the tower at the EMA office. Jim-KL0LN stated that there is need for one HF antenna for communicating with Clanton and one dual band 2mtr/440 antenna for local use. Todd-KI4DFC stated that he had given the local Red Cross Chapter the Radio required list for the EMA to see if they could get funding. Buck then stated that he was willing to fund an antenna.
