October 2008 Minutes

Introductions were made.

The meeting was called to order by Jim-KL0LN at 7PM on the 16th.

The minutes for August and September were read and approved as read.

The Treasurer's report was read and approved as read.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT:

Jim is still working with the EMA regarding the D-Star repeater.

VICE PRESIDENT'S REPORT"

Buck K4HKR was absent.

EC'S REPORT:

Jim reported that James Nelson KE4GWW is the new Deputy EC for Region 2.

REPEATER COMMITTEE REPORT:

Jerry N4RYC reported that all systems are working well.

OLD BUSINESS:

The Ozark 146.98 repeater now has a 100 Hz tone required.

The election of Officers for 2009 was conducted with the following results:

President:     Jim KL0LN
Vice Present   Carl KC4FLT
Sec/Treas Jerry N4RYC

After the election, Kerry WA2QCJ volunteered and was approved as PIO.

James KE4GWW informed all of the upcoming tailgate party in Headland and the 2 
meter and 10 meter nets from Dothan.

Tom WA4YQT volunteered to set up the Christmas dinner.



Dave Arnold, a DAC Blackhawk instructor pilot at Ft. Rucker, told all present 
about the capabilities of a new radio system in the Blackhawk. Most 
interesting is the ability to be a normal or crossband repeater.  He will give 
more info as he is working on his ham ticket.

The meeting was closed at 7:45 PM.
