International Space Station Update

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has named veteran Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko (RK3DUP) and veteran NASA astronaut Ed Lu (KC5WKJ) as the primary crew for Expedition 7 on the International Space Station (ISS).

This will be the first two-person ISS crew as well as the first primary crew to journey to the space station on a Russian Soyuz spacecraft. Launch from Kazakhstan is currently scheduled for April 26th.

ISS Expedition 6 Commander Ken Bowersox (KD5JBP), Flight Engineer Nikolai Budarin (RV3FB), and NASA Space Station Science Officer Don Pettit (KD5MDT) were due to return to Earth in March aboard the space shuttle Atlantis, but will instead return aboard a Soyuz spacecraft in May. They have been aboard ISS since November 23rd.
