Fun times were had at the annual EARS Field Day held at Johnny Henderson
Park on June 28-29. Contest QSO's may not have been numerous, but good
eats and long stories were sure abundant!
Rain was forecast for both days, but not a single drop fell between
Saturday setup and Sunday teardown. Murphy's Law made an appearance
though, as bad antenna coax had to be replaced after much troubleshooting
and frustration. Attempts to get a CW station on the air also failed.
But SSB operations went well and the new logging software contributed
by Jack/W4UZR successfully tracked the 166 contacts.
Tom/WA4YQT did his annual Emeril Live routine with a Hamburger/Hotdog cookout
(along with contributor side dishes and deserts) on Saturday evening plus
a Bacon-n-Eggs breakfast on Sunday morning.
Participating in Field Day 2003 were: K4EXT, K4HKR (and Peggy), KD4FNI
(and Darlene), KD4KT, KD4KZY, KE4VEP. KE4VPF, KG4VBJ, KG4VBK, KG4VBM,
KLØLN, N4JAG, N4MBQ, N4WIG, N5TKT, W4UZR, WA4WQW, WA4YQT, and a few
visitors.
