Field Day Results de Jack/W4UZR

  • Total SSB Contacts: 129
  • Total CW Contacts: 32

Did You Know?

One of the best-known names in the movie business was also a ham. Actor Marlon Brando, who died in Los Angeles on July 1 at age 80, was licensed as both KE6PZH and FO5GJ (and listed in the FCC database as Martin Brandeaux). Word has it that he operated with his FO5 call sign from his private island in French Polynesia.

Scouting Around

Cub Scouts from Dothan joined in on the EARS Tuesday night net on June 15th via Railey/KG4YUP. At the conclusion of the net, Glenn/KD4FNI put on quite a show in answering questions from the youngsters:

  • How long have you been a ham?
  • What was your furthest contact?
  • What's your name? (which got asked twice)
  • What's your favorite color?

Note that Glenn's response to the favorite color question was "Blue ... 'cause I got beautiful blue eyes!"
