The October EARS meeting included election of officers for the coming year. Election results are as follows:
Note that Gary/K4EXT has agreed to continue as EARS newsletter editor and Boll Weevil Net manager, neither of which are elected officer positions.
The Annual EARS Christmas Dinner will be held at Po Folks on the Boll Weevil Circle in Enterprise on Friday, December 12th. Meet-n-Greet begins at 6:30 PM with dinner served at 7:00 PM. Note that this is not just for EARS members, but for all local area Hams. So, feel free to spread the word! The Christmas Dinner cost and menu will be discussed at the November 20th EARS meeting. Please RSVP to Rick/N4JAG as soon as possible. |

The Boll Weevil Net meets every Tuesday evening at 8:00pm on the 147.24+ repeater frequency. Recent activity has been as follows:

The Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) international team has announced an on-the-air Special ISS Event to commemorate former NBC science correspondent Roy Neal, K6DUE, who died August 15th following heart surgery. ARISS has requested that the ISS Expedition 8 crew of commander Mike Foale, KB5UAC, and Alex "Sasha" Kaleri, U8MIR, communicate from space with earthbound radio amateurs during the weekend of November 29-30. Those contacting the ISS by voice (NA1SS) or packet (RS0ISS) through the end of December will be eligible for a special anniversary event certificate. For more information: www.arrl.org |
