The following Email was received by your Editor on November 5th: Dear Fellow Ham: I would like to take a moment and to thank one of your club members, Jim Garrison (KLØLN). I live in Brewton, Alabama and am also a member of the local ham club here in Brewton. Before Hurricane Ivan hit we discussed as a club the need for more ham operators in the Brewton area. The lack of hams in the area was a major concern of mine before the Hurricane hit. Little did I know that help was already in the planning stages. About 3 days after Ivan tore up Brewton, I found out that Brewton had gained more Hams in the area. Jim Garrison had left his house to come to Brewton to help with the radio traffic. What a relief it was to have him man the radios, while we were able to take care of our own individual needs. It must have been hard on him to leave his loved ones. He left with trees and trash in his own yard so we could clean up our yards. What more can you ask of someone??? If there is anyone else in your club that helped in the Brewton Area tell them THANK YOU. Please pass this on to Jim and share with your club members.

The EARS Annual Christmas dinner will be held at Po Folks on the circle in Enterprise beginning at 7:00pm on Friday, December 17th. Please arrive around 6:30pm for socializing prior to dinner. The menu will be similar to last year - fried turkey, ham, and all the usual trimmings. The price will also probably be the same as last year ... $12.00 per person (tip included). Note that our Christmas Dinner is not just for EARS members, but also for all local area hams and their families. Please make sure you inform Rick/N4JAG as soon as possible on whether you will be attending this year's star-studded (?) event!

If I missed anyone or left someone as due that has already paid, please let me know. I've been busy with the Peanut Festival for the last two weeks. Tnx, Rick.
October's EARS meeting included election of officers for the coming year, and the lucky winners are as follows:
OK now ... let's all sing it together even louder than last month ...
