By my best guess, there were approximately 20 members and spouses or children that attended. The activities took place at the QTH of Duane , WA4WQW North of New Brockton, where there was plenty of shade including a pole tent. There were 4 stations in operation throughout the day. One HF station was provided by Tom, WA4YQT, another was provided by Jerald, KE4VEP. A 6 meter rig from Jim, KL0LN was in operation and a 2 meter packet station by Jerry, N4RYC was also in operation. We are all indebted to Duane, WA4WQW for the space and other modern conveniences, and to Cliff, WA4AKG for the tent and cooking appliances and his cooking abilities. Most especially our thanks to Jerald, KE4VEP and Margaret, KE4VPF for all the organizing, cooking, running, buying and all the other hard work that they did to make it a successful day. TNX to both of you, you did an excellent job. The only thing that you forgot was the RAIN. TNX for that too. Jerry, N4RYC editor. --------------------------------------------------------------- Electronic Edition: Just a reminder that the Huntsville Hamfest is coming up next month (15-16 August). The August meeting will be after the Hamfest, so the newsletter will be right at Hamfest time. The phone number for the Huntsville Hilton Hotel is 256-533-1400, in case you haven't yet made your reservations. Tell them you want the Hamfest rate.
