HT REVIEW

In case you get 73 Magazine and read the review on the Yeasu
VX-1R, please don't believe all you read. There were some
significant errors. It will do crossband, the emergency
function does turn off like it should, and the automatic squelch
works exactly as advertised. 

I e-mailed the author of the review and he claims the review
was written long before Yeasu corrected some firmware problems. 
He must have written it prior to August of 1997, 'cause that's
when I bought mine and it works great. Just thought you'd like

BREAKFAST

Each Saturday morning, a group of area HAMS meet at Dotties'
Country Kitchen on North Main Street in Enterprise, for
breakfast and fellowship. Come by and have some good food, or
just coffee, and a good time. We start meeting about 7AM. See

Electronic Edition:

Jerry forgot to mention Field Day is coming up and will be held at
the QTH of WA4WQW. Final details will be discussed and worked 
out at this months meeting. I know there are plans for a big cook-out
Saturday afternoon, but other than that, I know nothing. Jerry did 
remember to attach the map for those who don't know where 
Duane lives, but that doesn't do much good to those of you on
this email list. So... if you don't have a 2-meter rig in your car to be
talked-in, and you need a map, drop me a note and tell me. If you
can receive and view JPEG graphics with your email software or
your browser, I'll send it email. If you can't (like juno.com) be sure to
tell me and I'll mail you a hard copy. (Remember, if you don't tell me 
otherwise, I'll email you a picture!)

We've been asked to assist with some commo on Friday, 19 June.
KF4JTF is the project officer, and I'm sure he'll report final details
at the meeting. Try to be available to assist.
