Consequently, the BBS is temporarily down. I'll keep you posted. de N4JAG REPEATER NEWS The UHF repeater is being worked on. We have a problem with two power amplifier boards, so the output is only about 2 watts. I think the next plan is to swap a power transistor or two from one board to another. We'll keep you posted. de N4JAG FIELD DAY Field Day is next month and we have decided to contest this year. We will be discussing our plans at this month's meeting, so please be there to help plan. We plan on having any Hams in the local area participate. Tell any Ham you know about our plans so that they can attend also. SILENT KEY KE4DRW, Mrs. Louise Lee Ferguson, 76, of Enterprise, died Saturday, April 28, 2001 after a long battle with cancer. She had been under hospice care for several months. Memorial services were held Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at the Searcy Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Talmadge Butler officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice Office in Enterprise. KE4DRW had been a member of the Enterprise Amateur Radio Society for many years. ----------------------------------------------- Electronic Edition: BBS I mentioned above that the BBS was down. Well, it was when I wrote that and sent it to Jerry. Bob, WA4GIU, completely rebuilt the system. It must have taken quite a hit - just about everything except the power supply and the case was fried! Thanks for the work Bob. I put it back up Friday afternoon and it seems to be doing fine. We still need to get a tower up so we can get it back on RF. UHF On the UHF repeater: We've put out a request for another PA module. If you attend a Hamfest and find one for a GE Mastr II UHF repeater or the PA and final board for one of the mobiles, think about us if it isn't too expensive. FOR SALE KL0LN has a Kenwood TS-940S HF transceiver for sale. He wants $850 for it, without a microphone. In case you don't know, it has an automatic antenna tuner built in. It's A/C only - no input for 12 VDC. It's a great radio - I've got one myself and love it. Give Jim a call if you're interested. 894-6145, or: jgarrison@alaweb.com WELCOME BACK Sonny and Beth, KD4IDG and KD4IDK, have moved back into the area. Daleville to be exact. I don't have a new address or phone number for them yet - if I did I'd pass it on. Probably by next month. Meanwhile, when you hear them on the air, say hello. We'll probably see them at Field Day. That's about it for this month. Hope to see you at the club meeting this Thursday so we can discuss the Field Day plans. 73 N4JAG Rick Eat Well, Stay Fit, Die Anyway.
