REPEATER NEWS As I write this, our 147.24 repeater is still in the hands of the manufacturer having the Autopatch fixed, and a general tune-up. I hope it will be back shortly. The new UHF repeater is also still being worked on. No estimated date on getting it in service - it just depends on how soon it's ready, when we get the coax, an antenna, tower climber, etc. I'll keep you posted. de N4JAG CHRISTMAS DINNER This is a reminder that our annual Christmas Dinner will be on 18 December at the Magnolia Room on North Main Street in Enterprise. Dinner time is 7 PM but we will begin arriving around 6:30 PM for socializing. If you have not told Rick-N4JAG (347-6178), Mike-N4WIG (347-4769), or Jerry-N4RYC (347-4650) that you are coming, there will not be a place for you. We must know by the 13th of December to insure that the restaurant has an accurate number. The following have indicated that they are coming. Remember, there won't be a meeting in December due to the dinner, so if you want to make a meeting before the end of the year, it will have to be the November. (By the way, our meetings are Y2K compliant!) Have you noticed that I haven't mentioned anything about this, or the next, millenium? That's because I am one of the few that believe that the next millenium begins in the year 2001. Didn't we begin numbering the years with the number "1"? Unless there was a year "zero", the end of this millenium will be at the end of year 2000, not the end of 1999. But I guess no-one really cares.
