The restaurant must know how much to prepare. Remember, the dinner is not just for club members, all Hams are invited. So, tell your friends. IMPORTANT VOTES At the September meeting, the following amendment to the EARS Constitution was moved by the members present. Article IV: "The by-laws shall provide for regular and special meetings. At meetings, eight (8) paid up members plus two (2) elected officers shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business." The change is from ten (10) members to eight (8). For this change to be implemented, Article VII requires two-thirds of the "total membership", not just those present at the October meeting, to vote "yes". Accordingly, all members not present and able to vote at the October meeting will automatically enter an absentee vote of "yes" unless said member has notified any elected officer in advance of the October meeting that s/he desires to vote "no". For more information, contact N4JAG. OFFICERS We will also be voting on new officers at this meeting. Just pretend that we have been notified that we may be needed for bad weather or a train wreck or something and monitor the repeater and radios. Who knows. We may get the call. N4RYC REPEATER NEWS The repeater will be taken off the air soon after the SET. It will be sent to the factory for repairs. When it returns, we hope to install it and the 440 repeater at the same time. The 440 machine is on hand awaiting crystals which are to be ground on or about the 15th. Coming soon to a repeater site near you. de N4RYC ------------------------------------ Electronic edition: I was hoping to be able to report the new callsign for Gerald McDaniel, but it apparently has not yet been assigned. As I'm typing this, the Boy Scout Jamboree On The Air is in progress at Camp Alaflo. Thanks to Duane and all the others that helped in any way. It is deeply appreciated. Believe it or not, I can't think of anything else, so I'm gonna wrap it up. Hope to see some of you at the meeting. 73 N4JAG -- Rick War doesn't determine who is right. War determines who is left.
