September 2000 Newsletter


The September meeting will be held at 7:00 PM,
Thursday, 21 September, in Room S-100 in the
Science Building at Enterprise State Junior
College.

The following members annual dues of $20 
($5 Associate) are due.

Please remember that after you are three months
overdue, you will be dropped from the club roster. If
you can't attend a meeting, please mail your check,
payable to EARS, to the club address. Thank you for
your support.

advance to schedule a test.

SURGERY

I have heard that Buck K4HKR had surgery on 14 Sep and 
is now mending. Get well soon Buck and return to us.



SILENT KEY 

Jack Hutto KU4B died on 25 August and was buried
on 28 August in the Woodlawn Memory Gardens in
Ozark. Jack was a longtime member of EARS and will
be missed by his many friends.



PEANUT FESTIVAL

The Wiregrass Amateur Radio Club will be assisting
communications from the National Peanut Festival
comm trailer. They are seeking volunteers. The dates
are from 4-11 Nov. Times from 5 to 11or12PM. Free
parking inside the grounds. Duty primarily with 
phones and Festival internal radios. For more

BREAKFAST

Remember breakfast at Dottie's in Enterprise and Ann's
in Ozark on Saturday mornings. Enterprise is at 7AM
and Ozark is at 8AM. Come by and have an enjoyable
visit with the local HAMS.

Actually Mel Yanda is our newest member. (We welcomed
Jim Leddon last month. Oh well. Welcome again!) Mel,
KG4IXC, is an instructor pilot at Fort Rucker. Make him
feel welcome when you hear him on the repeater. His

You won't have to add him to your club roster because
we're sending out a new roster by snail-mail this month.
You should get it in a few days.

addresses to this newsletter. If you know of any errors
or changes that need to be made, please let me know.

Start making plans for our annual Christmas dinner.
You can't plan much 'cause I don't know exactly when or
where it will be yet - other than in December - but
remember that we do have one. N4RYC is the project officer
on it this year, so if you have any ideas, let him know.
We'll probably be discussing it at this month's meeting
too.

I can't think of anything else right off hand, so that'll
wrap it up. Remember to check out the EARS web page. If
